For the biggest and best Mardi Gras in Texas, there is one place to go–Galveston. It is the largest Mardi Gras celebration in Texas and the third largest in the U.S.
With over 20 different parades, Mardi Gras Galveston fun starts on Friday, February 21 and runs to Fat Tuesday, March 4, 2025. In total, over 3 million beads will be thrown to paradegoers along the route. For those in the know, the balconies along the Strand are the places to be.
The go-to parades are the Mystic Krewe of Aquarius Parade, the Krewe Gambrinus Parade, and the Knights of Momus Grand Night Parade. Each offers glittering parade floats, marching bands and more.
The Strand is an entertainment district during Mardi Gras and features additional food and drink booths. There are also a couple of stages with back-to-back live music. A weekend-long gate entry is required to join the party, and advance purchase gets you the best prices. Keep in mind, kids 12 and younger enter for free.

Mardi Gras in San Antonio
San Antonio loves a party, and Mardi Gras is no different. Set along the San Antonio River, the stage at the Arneson River Theatre comes alive with the sounds of Zydeco.
With floating river parades all the rage in San Antonio, the Bud Light Mardi Gras River Parade will be on March 1, 2025. This year’s event will float down two different sections of the River Walk: from 2 to 3 p.m. on the Museum Reach, from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Downtown area of the River Walk. There will be food vendors. and visitors are encouraged to dress up.

Mardi Gras Southeast Texas in Beaumont
Along the Texas Coast City, Mardi Gras Southeast Texas has been a staple since 1993. Billed as a family-friendly affair, this Mardi Gras celebration benefits nonprofits in Beaumont.
Mardi Gras Southeast Texas features kids inflatables, indoor concerts, and over 50 food and arts and crafts vendors. There are several parades, including the Valero Krewe of Krewes and Krewe of Aurora Grand Parade.

Mardi Gras in Texas City
The Mainland Mardi Gras boasts an Urban Cowboy theme for its annual ball and parade in 2025. This year’s events are on Saturday, February 8, 2025.
